| Jennifer Shiman, cartoonist CA, USA http://www.angryalien.com ![]() "Presenting: my home-office/studio! I'm a self-employed cartoonist/internet animator based in Los Angeles, California. For the last 2 years, I've been working full-time in this spot, creating Flash-animated shorts of bunnies who re-enact movies in 30 seconds." ![]() "Detail of my primary workspace. I draw and ink the artwork for my cartoons by hand, then scan them into the computer for the rest of production...hence the lightbox under my keyboard! The area is dotted with a bobblehead cow on my monitor, various festive post-it notes from my sweetheart/fiance Douglas; my Batman tin full of drawing instruments, drawing tablet and other miscellany." ![]() "Piles of James Bond movies (my bunnies re-enacted a medley of James Bond movie moments, so I needed to brush up); as well as therequisite and delicious cuppa coffee." ![]() "Bookshelf of resources which include all my animation reference stuff and favorite graphic novels, Dungeons and Dragons manuals, manga, etc. The top shelf features Doug's chimp business card holder, chess clock, and wacky alarm clock." ![]() "One great part of this room is a giant built-in cabinet, where I put my second desk for drawing and recording voices. Remove the chair, and I can hide the desk completely! On the side of the cabinets is a magnetic board with photos and inspirational postcards picked up during various travels." ![]() "Sitting on the desk inside that cabinet is a wooden CD holder that I filled with toys, matchbooks and file backups; all items within are functional in their own way (extra markers! homemade snowglobe! more bobbleheads! gargoyle! squeaky laptop Buddha!)" ![]() "Inset of my wall of good fortunes. Everytime I get a good fortune cookie fortune, I place it here. I'm happy to report, they've reallyadded up! I like to glance at these while I draw. I also stuck some bunny drawings and other significant doodles there for good measure." "Thank you so much for letting me share my workspace stuffs" - Jennifer |

PS. this is my "nickname" for another blog. My alias, as you will....
You just became my Hero of the Day! The bunnies shorts are hilarious, but the fact that you have a copy of the second edition Shadowrun rulebook in your work space makes you my hero :)
Wow, seeing your desk is akin to seeing Orson Welles' underwear drawer! I love your bunny movies. Thanks for the look.
I so love your Bunny Movies! Please never stop making them! :)
Hello Jennifer,
the bunny-movies are quite cool...
I'm sending all my friends in
Germany and Europe the angryalien link.
Keep up the good work!
did not see this on your request list but how about doing "Grosse Point Blank" one of my favorite movies!! Keep up the great work we love to watch them at work! :)
i love the 30-sec bunnies. i wish their would be matthew broderick movies portrayed by the bunnies like inspector gadget. well, maybe next year. keep up the good work, Mrs. Shiman!
I'm a very "big" fan of the 30-second bunnies, and I just can't wait for the Grudge to be bunnified. Just to throw my idea out there for what it's worth, I think the bunnies should be taking a look at Marie Antoinette(2006). I think that movie is dying for a bunny makeover. One of my personal faves from 06.
I obviously love your work far too much. I have stared at these pictures of your office for about half an hour, (Birthplace of my Beloved Bunnnies!) with a sort of reverance reserved for the Almighty, and that is in no way depressing! Don't ever stop, I beg of you.
I've known your stuff for a while and only just now seen this blog - cheers for the laughs, you've a great style.
Wow! I love your illustrations! 30-second bunnies always bring a smile to my face. :) Keep up the good work!
This might seem weird, but could you guys to O'Brother, Where Art Thou?
HA!!!
Indeed I love your work too- AND I just thought you should know- that the CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON DRUG ABUSE- Watches the bunnies ALL the time! I will run over to his office and say- "HEY there's a NEW ONE!" and we watch and laugh!
Thank you for sharing! (I collect fortunes all the time too! I love that you have a wall of them! I have been thinking of making a mosaic table and adding some of them under glass! If I do- I will be sure to post images...)
Well Done!!!

I once got a fortune cookie fortune that said "the people you work with will be more cooperative than usual"
to this day, when someone disagrees with me at work, I simply tap the top of my monitor where I have joyously taped said fortune.
Love your work space. Rob
ps. your bunnies rule.

Hi, I absolutely love your stuff!! It's like the online equivalent of the sistine chapel...with bunnies!! If Van Gogh had used more bunnies maybe he wouldn't have had to cut off his own ear...

i've been a massive fan for years (fave? its a wonderful life & jaws) and its great to see behind the curtain!!
oh, and you really neeeeeed to bunnify better off dead.

Have you considered doing American Beauty??? Would be funny with the bunnies!
I've been watching your stuff since 2004!
i can't stop watching the bunnies. in the jaws episode, the image of the bunny sliding down the tipped boat into the waiting mouth of the shark kills me. it's because of what the bunny's little feet are doing. i can't stand it. i beg of you, never stop.

I have been keeping up with the bunnies since you only had about 6 or 7 flicks up. And you came to my town (Rochester, NY), one week before I came back from vacation, I was so sad!!! You and the buns are the absolute best!!
I absolutely love your bunny re-enactments! My favorite one is "pirates of the carribean one and two". I've seen both movies and I feel that they're 100 times funnier re-enacted [especially by bunnies!] Can't wait for pirates of the carribean 3! Keep up the fantastic work
Hi, I´m Rossana from Chile, SouthAmerica. I´ve been watching the re-enactments for some time now, and I absolutely love it!My favorites are reservoir dogs and pulp fiction, those are awesome!! and I love that interview.. you know "i like to spend a lot of time in the garden, snacking" I think is hilarious! keep up the good work!!!

My mom and I love to sit together at the computer and watch your bunny movies. We both end up laughing and re-playing them. Have you ever considered doing, "Platoon"? Maybe too deep a topic, but just a thought.

Great cartoons... hilarious (and I love 'Amy's diary', special mention to her!) So when can we see "Death in Venice" Bunny version?
I've deen watching the bunnies since your first few, before Starz! picked them up. I was so glad that this wonderful and original idea had been picked up by someone, and I think it's a great way to show friends what they're missing if they haven't seen certain movies, or a good way to preview them if you haven't seen them yourself. I love it, and I love your workspace setup. ^.^ Keep the buns rollin!
Oh, and btw, I put in my vote for Grosse Point Blank in there as well. Some great lines and scenes in that movie; wonderful material that I think the bunnies would have a fun time with.
I'll keep watching!
Hey Jennifer! your bunnies are amazing!
I wish you would do Harry Potter, that would be really funny. Or why don't you do a rip-take of the epic movie! a rip-take of a rip-take, now THAT i would watch! Also i back up the Saw suggestion, that movie was strange :S Lol from England to california, from a randomer to the bunny maker :P
I love your work! Please do "The Breakfast Club"! LOL, that would be so funny. :P
Your work is amazing and I'm so impressed! Thanks for keeping up the good work! Your site has been nominated for Funniest Parody Website at my small Award "show" hosted by my blog! Jennifer,
I totally love your work. I teach at a high school in rural Kentucky where I show the 'language/content appropriate' clips! :) THEY LOVE EM'.
Our school just got a graphic design class this year and I can't wait to discuss animation as a unit in the class because we all know graphic designers animate some these days on websites.
Thank you for keeping the 'dreams' of cartooning and making it alive for me and all my students.
I think you are WoNdErFuL!
& the bunnies too!
The bunnies rock!!! keep working hard because the result is amazing!!
love mwah xx
The shorts are hilarious!!! I find they are a great way to get a laugh and take a 30 sec break while working. Also, the way you condense the movies down is very creative and they come together wonderfully. Nice to see someone's desk looks less congested than mine :)
Blues Brothers please. Pleasepleaseplease.
There is something seriously wrong with you... Will you marry me?
Please, can you do a killbill parody?
P.S.Love bunnies!
I've gotta say that I've loved your creations since the first time that I saw "The Shining" which is still my ultimate favorite!
I love the bunnies! Keep creating these 30 second masterpieces Jennifer...
BTW, can you please do "Castaway"?
You are BEYOND awesome!!! I've watched all the bunny shorts again and again and they never lose they're fantastic charm. Silence of the Lambs trilogy??? I think I would love you forever (I already do).

Hey Jennifer!
I am thrilled to see Doramon on your shelves--he's been a favorite of mine for a while! Also, I adore your bunny shorts, and I'm pleased to see that the site just keeps growing! I give "The Shining" short and "Amy's Diaries" major credit for the completion of my college degree; I really don't know how I could have gotten through some of those all-nighters without them!
Keep up the excellent work, and here's to many blessings in your life!

As a longtime fan, I have to say that I'm thrilled to see "Chuck Amuck" amongst your bookshelf of resources.
Does is always look this organized?
Cheers!
sw
Started watching the bunnies when you had the original two: The Exorcist and The Shining. They cracked me up and I haven't been able to stop watching the growing library of flicks.
Very interesting to see your work spaces...fun to see where you create. I second the vote for Carrie. Like The Exorcist and The Shining, it's old school horror which is still frightening even today.
Well done to you and the buns!
K
My family loves your bunny shorts Jennifer! My husband has started making stop-motion shorts with my 10-yr old girls (and by himself). A few are on youtube (search danacurhan if you have nothing else to do). I'm going to download some free flash animation tools for him to try now that we know our bunny-making heroine uses flash.
